An exciting new collaboration for Artelier enables us to embrace our waste and all for the good of our environment!

All our clients know how much Team Artelier LOVE the world of hair: as hair professionals, there is nothing more satisfying than when our clients leave us feeling amazing from the confidence-boosting and empowering effects of an incredible new hairstyle or colour.
We are also all very aware that there is an ugly side to our industry: we freely pour toxic hair colour down the sink, throw our used foils and aluminium colour tubes in the bin given that they mostly can’t be recycled, we throw valuable hair cuttings into the bin and use more plastic and paper than other high street businesses. THIS HAS TO STOP! We want it to stop NOW for the future of our children and grandchildren, for the environment, our planet, for our animals, our coastline and sealife!
The Artelier Team have been investigating how we can improve sustainability and we have now connected with a wonderful startup organisation called The Green Salon Collective who will encourage and support us with a campaign named #wasteembraced

How Does #WasteEmbraced Work?
GREEN SALON COLLECTIVE is a start-up of industry experts, hairdressers and eco campaigners on a mission towards hairdressing sustainability. They can collect almost 100% of all salon waste and find new uses for it that reward the salon, the environment, and the community.
With their recycling system, they can recycle almost every single piece of “rubbish” and turn it into something new.
The Green Salon Collective will provide our salon with separation kits, in-salon marketing as well as regular collections, ongoing support, ideas and education on all matters regarding sustainability.
The company also recycle all their profits. 100% of any money raised from recycling salon raw materials or new products made from salon waste goes to charity. By recycling their profits, every month together we can support charities and organisations that are close to our hearts. These currently include the following:
The Hair & Beauty Charity; Foodcycle; Haircut
s 4 The Homeless; Tree Planting.
The biggest winner here is that collectively, salons who are part of the Green Salon Collective are able to reward the planet by diverting dangerous excess colour & bleach from our waterways, preventing plastics & hair in going to landfills, the same goes for, paper, e-waste, organic waste and much more!

Artelier are very proud to be the first hair salon in Formby to join the Collective and one of the first Liverpool Hairdressers to be part of the group.
