There is nothing more refreshing than ice cold fruit, fresh granola and a generous dollop of Greek yoghurt. It’s so invigorating, bright and full of nutrients to help keep your hair beautiful and strong. The goodness, flavour and simplicity of this recipe means that you can eat a nutritious and light breakfast that will help your hair (and body) thrive.
Nutritional Experts, Rania and Julie, @thelittledelicrosby explain below how to create a Smoothie Sundae and explain why it’s nutritious ingredients are so good for our tresses.
SMOOTHIE SUNDAE RECIPE
A handful of granola (we make our own, in store. If you fancy doing this, check out our Instagram to show you how)
A handful of frozen berries
A dollop of Greek yoghurt
A sprinkle of berries to make it pretty on top
Now, we have been deliberately liberal with the ingredients and left it up to you how much you put in of each…you can adapt to suit your preferred portion
Pop some of the granola in the bottom of your glass
Place your frozen berries (with a touch of juice to loosen them) in a blender and pulse until the texture becomes like a sorbet (*it should not be runny, it should be quite firm)
Place the blended fruit on top of the Granola,
Put more Granola on top of fruit smoothie
Put a dollop of yoghurt on top, and there you go!!
How will this make my hair amazing?
The devil is in the detail! We’ve already spoken about the goodness in oats and nuts in previous recipes, so now, we’re going to focus on the goodness in the yoghurt and berries! Berries are literally a wonder-food! Full of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, as well as being very tasty and such an adaptable ingredient. Rich in bioflavonoids, they are perfect to help prevent hair loss and helps keep the blood circulating in the scalp encouraging healthy hair growth.
Greek Yoghurt is a protein powerhouse. It’s essential that we get enough protein in our diet so our hair can grow healthy and strong. Protein is the essential building blocks that we need for a luxurious mane that can cope with the daily demands of styling, air pollution and products.
