Statistics would suggest that February is generally the month where our new years resolutions fall by the wayside and the motivational spark that kick-started our year drops to an all time low! At Artelier, we believe that if you look good you feel good and that your hair should be at the top of your priority list for looking good.
For February, our nutrition experts, Julie and Rania at The Little Deli, Crosby have created a delicious ‘Nutty Carrot Cake Oats’ recipe that is so easy to prepare and a tasty breakfast treat.
NUTTY CARROT CAKE OATS RECIPE
75g Porridge oats
½ carrot grated
150ml Milk (We use oat milk, but any you have or prefer is fine)
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon of maple syrup or honey
Small handful of walnuts and pecans (don’t add if you have a nut allergy!)
½ teaspoon of chia seeds
1 tablespoon of Greek yogurt (or any alternative)
Mix the carrot, cinnamon with the oats, add the milk, cover and chill in the fridge overnight (we use a small kilner, but any small container will be fine!)
The next day, stir in the maple/honey, seeds and nuts
Add a dollop of yogurt and enjoy!!
WHAT DO THESE LITTLE OATS DO FOR MY HAIR?
Oats are amazing… they are literally an all-round super food for hair. They contain important minerals to help encourage healthy hair growth, such as potassium, phosphorus and magnesium. They also help in creating melanin, helping prevent hair from going grey and can help prevent hair loss!
Carrots have an abundance of vitamin A, this essential vitamin stimulates sebum production, thus helping condition your scalp and keep it in healthy condition for beautiful hair growth. Again, full of magnesium and phosphorus, that helps improve blood circulation in your scalp, which will help promote even more hair growth.
Have a Fabulous month!!!
